OMRON introduces new mast configuration options for OL-450S AMR

OMRON has announced expanded configuration options for its OL-450S Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR), adding new mast options for cart and load carrier transport across production and intralogistics operations. At interpack 2026, OMRON gives visitors a first-hand look at one of the new options in action, with a live demonstration at the Packaging Valley booth in Hall 16, Stand D72-11. The demonstration also features the OL-450S with an integrated VHV5 QR code reader, showing how mobile robotics can be combined with sensing and identification technologies to support enhanced tracking in workflows.

New mast options expand deployment flexibility across production environments

In packaging and production facilities, material movement needs to be automated without redesigning layouts, replacing existing carts, or disrupting running operations. The OL-450S supports cart-based transport in facilities where limited clearance, narrow aisles, and changing floor conditions make conventional mobile robots difficult to deploy.

OMRON has now expanded the OL-450S line-up with new mast configurations, giving operators and integrators greater control over how the robot navigates and localizes in their specific environments. The OL-450S is now available with no mast, short mast, or tall mast configurations. For highly dynamic areas, OMRON also offers a tower mast accessory that positions the localization laser above floor-level clutter, improving robustness where obstacles, staging areas, or layouts change frequently.

The OL-450S is also designed as an adaptable platform for system integrators. Its lifting plate can be modified for specific application requirements and may be raised, widened, or, within defined constraints, extended to support different cart designs, payload dimensions, and workflow needs while maintaining safety and stability.

Demonstrating integrated automation at interpack

At interpack, visitors are able to see a live demonstration of the OL-450S with a fully integrated VHV5 camera for on-board QR code reading and identification. This integration enables the AMR to scan and record load identities during transport, supporting traceability and workflow automation without additional infrastructure. The demonstration reflects OMRON's strength as a complete solution OEM, combining mobile robotics, industrial automation, robotics, vision, and AI-enabled technologies within one ecosystem.

Visit OMRON at interpack 2026, 7–13 May in Düsseldorf, Germany, to see the OL-450S and the latest integrated automation technologies live at the Packaging Valley booth in Hall 16, Stand D72-11.
