OMRON celebrates 90 years of innovation at SPS Italia 2023

OMRON, a global leader in industrial automation, will showcase its latest solutions at SPS Italia 2023. The event, held on 23-25 May at Parma Exhibition Center, will see OMRON celebrate 90 years of innovation demonstrating its continued commitment to delivering industrial automation solutions to improve lives and contribute to a better society.

"SPS Italia 2023 is an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate 90 years of innovation and show how we can help manufacturers achieve their goals and overcome challenges," said Donato Candiano, newly appointed General Manager at OMRON’s Industrial Automation Business in Italy. 

Candiano started in his new role on 1 April 2023, following in the footsteps of Massimo Porta who retired after a successful career at OMRON spanning 32 years. Candiano began his tenure with OMRON Italy in 2011 as the Product Manager for Industrial Sensors. Since then, he has held multiple positions in sales and marketing. In May 2022, he was promoted to the position of Deputy General Manager. 

Donato Candiano will now lead the business and focus on implementing the strategy and long-term vision of OMRON. He comments: “We need to maximize human capabilities by implementing people-oriented automation technologies. I believe that a harmonized automation approach that considers productivity, sustainability, and worker well-being is essential. The intelligent cell line control solution and our flexible assembly demo, both showcased at SPS Italia, are great examples of how this approach can be put into action.” 

At SPS Italia 2023, OMRON will highlight its latest solutions for autonomous and flexible production that maximize on-site productivity. As well as focusing on scenarios where humans and machines can work harmoniously, OMRON will display innovative automation solutions that can elevate performance and productivity to new levels.
