For our AOI department in Stuttgart, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer AOI (m/f/d).

Technical Support Engineer AOI (f/m/d), Stuttgart Area

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a technical support engineer who will support customers before, during or after purchase of SPI / AOI / AXI machines. Customers can be located anywhere in Europe.

The AOI division sells Optical and X-Ray machines for Printed Circuit Board inspection in Electronics production line. Nowadays there are 800 inspection machines sold all over Europe. The total AOI department consists of 13 team members located in different European countries. OMRON also have a partner network in most European Countries for the local sales and technical support. Types of machines sold: SPI (Solder Paste Inspection), AOI (Automated Optical Inspection) and AXI (Automated X-ray Inspection).

Duties and responsibilities

  • Visit customers before, during or after the purchase of the optical inspection machines
  • Demonstrate the optical inspection machines to customers
  • Determine fault causes of structural defects in optical inspection machines
  • Train customers and distributors how to use the optical inspection machines
  • Investigate and implement potential improvements in optical inspection machines and practices to achieve quality and efficiency improvements
  • Troubleshoot when problems or issues with the optical inspection machines occur
  • Assist with and participate in the development and introduction of new optical inspection machines

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A relevant technical degree
  • Fluent in German; Good communication skills (oral and written) in English. Spoken language with AOI colleagues is English
  • Able to work independently (for example at customer locations) and able to prioritize activities
  • Team player; Flexible
  • Willingness to travel (mostly inside Europe)
  • Good inter cultural awareness
  • Good IT knowledge; Knowledge in PLC programming and software development is a plus
