Customs & Transporation Employee

Purpose of the RoleThe Declarant ensures that shipment of receipt of goods to- or from national and international locations is accomplished in line with Warehouse Operations and regulation requirements for customs and transportation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide all common customs declarations activities and written objections
  • Monitor the proper use and subsequent delivery to the working arrangements of the customs authorizations granted by the Customs at Omron
  • Operates in one or two lines of transport (air, sea, road)
  • Verifies correctness of shipping documents
  • Assesses duty and tariff amounts for shipments
  • Provide reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis
  • Performs non-standard and complex activities for importing / exporting of goods
  • Works within existing guidelines (ISO, AEO and QMS)
  • Ownership regarding standard work activities and develop and maintain procedures and work instructions
  • Proper handling of problems
  • Processing of invoices for selected suppliers to allow product receipt in the warehouse and provide the inbound planning in collaboration with warehouse operations

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Relevant work experience, preferably in Customs Declarant activities and in transportation
  • Vocational education mbo (+) preferably in logistics. Relevant higher education through working experience is a plus
  • Customs Declarant degree (EVO of FENEX)
  • Knowledge in the field of Community Customs legislation, sales tax exemptions and Dutch & European regulations, procedures and forms
  • Knowledge of AEO requirements and procedures. Experience with GPA (Geatomatiseerde Periodieke Aangifte) is beneficial
  • Good communication (Dutch and English) skills
  • Great sense of responsibility (compliance)
  • Capable to explain customs to internal & external customers
  • Experience with shipments to Turkey and Russia is a pre
