Cylindrical sensors for all transparent targets

New easy-to-install cylindrical body photoelectric sensors for use with transparent targets are the latest addition to Omron’s comprehensive family of sensors for food industry applications. The new E3FZ-B sensors, which are equally suitable for use with glass or plastic targets, have standard M18 bodies and are available in both cabled and M12-connector versions.

Features
The new E3FZ-B products complement Omron’s recently introduced rectangular-body E3ZM-B_T transparent object sensors and offer similar sensing performance. Designed for retro-reflective operation, they have a maximum range of 700 mm. Adjustment is by means of a potentiometer, and the units can be readily configured for light-on or dark-on operation. They can be supplied with either PNP or NPN outputs.

Benefits
The E3FZ-B features coaxial optics providing higher detection stability compared to conventional dual optic models especially when using reflective films, on short or varying sensing distances or when the sensors are mounted behind a cover.

Applications
Typical applications for the new sensors include food and beverage packaging and filling machines, where their compact construction, ease of installation and adjustment, and stable dependable operation are important benefits.
