To mark its 75th anniversary in 2008, Omron reaffirmed its core corporate value, “Working for the benefit of society”, through a five-month ‘Eco-Volun’ programme. This global initiative involved Omron’s 35,000 employees in a range of environmental initiatives and voluntary work, for which they were awarded ‘Eco-Volun’ points. In turn, the company is donating money to various charities, based on the number of points awarded.

By the time the project closed at the end of September, Omron Europe volunteers had raised over 71,000 €, which the company is giving to the Red Cross for its Healthcare Education programme in Malawi. The programme, aimed pregnant women, is designed to reduce child mortality rates in one of the poorest countries in Africa. Besides this amount, The Red Cross is also considering our offer for products from Omron Healthcare.
