Scalable Machine Automation in the Spotlight

23/11/2009

The launch of the new and innovative Scalable Machine Automation Concept, which offers the most suitable and affordable integrated solution for automation projects of different sizes and functional requirements, is just one of the highlights of the Omron stand at SPS/IPC/Drives 2009.

Scalable Machine Automation

The Scalable Machine Automation Concept featured on the stand has been developed after long experience and extensive consultation with OEMs. This revealed that requirements fall into three main categories: Lean Automation, for small and compact machines performing dedicated tasks; Stream Automation, for flexible and high-speed continuous automation that relies on “all-digital” connectivity across all layers; and X-Stream Automation for complete production cell control

Product highlights at SPS

In the spotlight are the Xpectia machine vision system with true colour sensing, FlexXpect vision application software designed to satisfy industry-specific requirements, and a new range of easy-to-use safety light curtains.

Other highlights of the Omron stand include the CP1 family of PLCs, which offer users a choice of three levels of sophistication, CJ2H PLCs with built-in Ethernet capability, Trajexia solution-oriented motion control systems, linear motion systems and the new Omron range of SCARA robots which combine compact construction with simple programming. These are complemented by HMI terminals and powerful yet intuitive software solutions such as the CX-One PLC programming package and the Trajexia Studio motion control package.

Common threads running through the whole of the Omron product range are ease of use, ease of set up, simple integration in networked applications and powerful yet straightforward diagnostics.

Come and visit Omron!

Throughout the exhibition, automation experts from Omron will be available on the stand to provide information on the company’s new products, to provide assistance to visitors trying out products in the stand’s extensive demonstration and evaluation area, and to provide advice relating to visitors’ own specific application requirements. Visitors to the Omron stand will also have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with many of the company’s new and existing products in a large demonstration and evaluation area.
